Project Manager

David Bresnahan, MBA, joined the Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness as Project Manager in December 2011.  In this role, he coordinates VCEH’s efforts to end family homelessness through rapid re-housing.  VCEH is partnering with the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Freddie Mac Foundation to advance the rapid re-housing strategy in Virginia.

David has previously served as Director of Special Projects for UNITY of Greater New Orleans, a 60-agency collaborative coordinating efforts to end and prevent homelessness in the New Orleans area.  After Hurricane Katrina, David was part of a team that successfully advocated for federal resources for 3,000 units of Permanent Supportive Housing in Louisiana and that launched a centralized outreach, housing search, and placement initiative to house the most vulnerable.

Before that, he was Special Projects Coordinator for the Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center in Charleston, WV, during which time he was a founding member of the West Virginia Coalition to End Homelessness.  He was also Program Manager for the Beverly Affordable Housing Coalition, now the North Shore CDC, north of Boston.  He has been a consultant to numerous anti-poverty nonprofits and social enterprises.

David holds the Master of Business Administration in Nonprofit Management from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and the Bachelor of Science in Social Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics.
